The National Academy of Medicine announced the election of 90 regular members and 10 international members during its annual meeting. Election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.

Institutions will be required to report sexual misconduct to NIH if House committee bill becomes law

Institutions receiving NIH funds through grants or cooperative agreements would be required—by federal law—to notify the NIH director when a principal investigator or other key personnel are removed or disciplined for “harassment, bullying, retaliation, or hostile working conditions.”

Man harasses woman after woman, eventually someone (usually a woman) is brave enough to report him, a quiet investigation confirms the reports, and he quietly and seamlessly gets hired elsewhere with no one the wiser.
