Stephanie Halene named chief of hematology at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital
Stephanie Halene was named chief of hematology at Yale Cancer Center, Smilow Cancer Hospital and the Yale School of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine.
“Halene has served with distinction as interim chief, leading the section through tremendous growth, research development, and clinical challenges with a strong commitment to the success of the section’s faculty, trainees, providers, and staff,” Charles Fuchs, director of Yale Cancer Center and physician-in-chief at Smilow Cancer Hospital, said in a statement.
As chief of hematology, Halene will oversee the DeLuca Center for Innovation in Hematology Research to aid in the translation of Yale Cancer Center laboratory discoveries to clinics, establish a hematology biobank, and foster the development of young investigators in hematology research through career development awards and mentorship.
Halene joined the faculty at Yale in 2006.
Haggstrom named director of Regenstrief Institute Center for Health Services Research
David Haggstrom was named director of Regenstrief Institute’s William M. Tierney Center for Health Services Research.
Haggstrom will also serve as the Sam Regenstrief Endowed Scholar in Health Sciences Research. He had served as interim director since April.
Regenstrief’s Center for Health Services Research works to improve the delivery and outcomes of healthcare through innovative use of health information, technology and communication. The center’s areas of focus include health services research, implementation science, clinical evaluation and outcomes research, population and community health, and provider and patient behavior.
Regenstrief health services researchers conduct transdisciplinary research across settings, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Indiana University and Eskenazi Health.
