David Rivadeneira named director of Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Huntington

David Rivadeneira was named director of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Huntington. For the past seven years, Rivadeneira has led surgical services and colorectal surgery at Huntington Hospital.

Rivadeneira specializes in laparoscopic, and other minimally invasive procedures including advanced robotic procedures for the treatment of colon and rectal diseases, including cancer. He is a professor of surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Recently, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted a video montage featuring himself shirtless in jeans, working out with Kid Rock. The duo is in a blue-lit grotto with a cold plunge and sauna. Set to Kid Rock’s “Bawitdaba” and intercut with a selection of patriotic imagery, the video ends with the two men in a hot tub, chugging what appears to be milk.

Leadership is changing at The Wistar Institute and the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute in the months to come—but the leaders of the two institutions say that this will have little if any effect on the clinical-research collaboration that they have spent the past 15years building (The Cancer Letter, July 12, 2019).
