RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute have opened the Melchiorre Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. The cancer center, located on the campus of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, is a five-story, 137,000-square-foot, $225 million, outpatient facility for oncology services.
The National Cancer Advisory Board has established an ad hoc working group that will assess cancer centers as part of the designation process. The decision was approved unanimously with one abstention at the NCAB meeting March 17.
Peter Voorhees was promoted to associate director of clinical research and will oversee clinical research for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as all processes related to clinical protocol and data management and protocol review and monitoring system.
Samra Turajlić was appointed the director of the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute.
