NCI Director Anthony Letai appeared before the National Cancer Advisory Board Committee March 17 to maneuver through thorny topics while reiterating his message of reassurance:

Stability. Stability. Stability. NCI is sturdy and will weather the storms. 

“The mission hasn’t changed at the National Cancer Institute,” Letai said in his remarks to the committee. “The resources have really not changed. The way we choose grants has really not changed. I think there is a certain amount of apprehension—and understandable apprehension, particularly in the extramural community—that this is not the case.
