How’s this for a paradox: The better cancer centers become at keeping patients alive, the more expensive cancer care becomes. This brutal tradeoff hits harder in rural areas, where the cancer burden is higher and the investigator and clinical trial representation is lower.

Neutrophils help triple-negative breast cancer cells spread to other organs, BCM study finds

Researchers at Baylor College of Medicine and collaborating institutions have discovered how immune cells called neutrophils can help triple-negative breast cancer cells metastasize to other organs. The study found these interactions both in animal models and human samples of TNBC.

Camizestrant combination delayed time to first progression by 55% in patients with advanced HR+ breast cancer with ESR1 tumor mutation

Further positive results from the phase III SERENA-6 trial showed camizestrant plus a cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor—palbociclib, ribociclib or abemaciclib—maintained its progression-free survival benefit with longer follow-up and delivered a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in second progression-free survival, demonstrating sustained benefit beyond initial treatment.
