Research has uncovered persistent disparities in preventive cancer care across different sexual orientation and gender identity populations. The study, conducted by researchers at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and The James Comprehensive Cancer Center, found particular concern for cervical and breast cancer screening.

How’s this for a paradox: The better cancer centers become at keeping patients alive, the more expensive cancer care becomes. This brutal tradeoff hits harder in rural areas, where the cancer burden is higher and the investigator and clinical trial representation is lower.
