The House Committee on Energy and Commerce budget reconciliation bill, which includes attacks on Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage and fails to extend ACA tax credits, would increase the number of uninsured people by at least 13.7 million.

The National Breast Cancer Coalition called these cuts “destructive” and “unacceptable.” For people with breast cancer, the health outcomes will be devastating, the organization said on their website.

The message reads:

NBCC is outraged that Congress will consider deep cuts to Medicaid and other health coverage impacting millions of Americans.

On May 14, the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted legislation out of committee containing devastating cuts to Medicaid and health care access.

Please take a moment to send an urgent message to your representatives: any cuts to Medicaid will harm women and men battling breast cancer.

They would also jeopardize care for low-income communities and deepen financial instability.

Our elected leaders must do everything in their power to prevent these damaging cuts that will harm health care access.

NBCC urges the public to take action by calling or writing to tell members of Congress that these budget cuts will devastate millions.
