As a ComboMATCH-designated lab, Exact Sciences will use its new OncoExTra test to analyze tumor tissue and paired normal blood samples from patient participants and uncover the specific abnormalities in a patient’s tumor that may be most effective to treat.
BriaCell Therapeutics Corp. received an NCI research grant to advance the company’s platform of personalized off-the-shelf immunotherapies for cancer. The grant award of non-dilutive funds, totalling $399,918 for 2023, is titled “An off-the-shelf tumor cell vaccine with HLA-matching alleles for the personalized treatment of advanced solid tumors.”
NCI continues to face the prospect of flat funding in fiscal year 2024 as a spending bill proposes a 3% cut to NCI’s budget, which threatens to further reduce the institute’s purchasing power, said NCI Director Monica Bertagnolli.
