Regular treatment with immunoglobulin replacement therapy in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia was not associated with a reduced risk of serious infections requiring hospitalization, according to a study published in Blood Advances.

John P. Leonard, an expert in lymphoma and other blood cancers, was named director of the Center for Blood Cancers and chief of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology in NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine. The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology is a major clinical arm of the Perlmutter Cancer Center.

China’s NMPA approves lisaftoclax for CLL or SLL

The National Medical Products Administration in China approved lisaftoclax (APG-2575), a Bcl-2 selective inhibitor, for the treatment of adult patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma who have previously received at least one systemic therapy including Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors.
