UChicago Medicine launches homegrown cell therapy for advanced solid tumors

Researchers at UChicago Medicine have launched a first-of-its-kind clinical trial testing a new type of personalized cell therapy designed to help the body’s own immune system recognize and destroy cancer cells. The study will evaluate the treatment’s safety and early effectiveness in patients with metastatic ovarian cancer and several other advanced solid tumors.

Camupepimut (ELI-002 7P) demonstrated consistent and favorable treatment-effect trends in patients with and without detectable baseline ctDNA and in patients without prior radiation across multiple pre-specified analyses, according to the results of a randomized phase II study of patients with resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma called AMPLIFY-7P.
