Research!America’s 22nd annual Advocacy Awards will pay a tribute to John Edward Porter, Research!America chair emeritus, for his decades-long commitment to advancing medical and health research. Porter served as a House member representing the 10th district in Illinois from 1980 to 2001, during which time he chaired the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, HHS, Education, and Related Agencies.
Richard Pazdur, founding director of FDA’s Oncology Center of Excellence and long-time FDA visionary, has accepted the top job at FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research following George F. Tidmarsh’s dramatic ouster from the position.
