Researchers at NYU Dentistry’s Pain Research Center have been awarded a five-year, $8 million NIH grant to study signaling mechanisms that generate oral cancer pain. The funding is part of the NIH’s Helping to End Addiction Long-term Initiative, which supports the development of safe and effective therapeutics to treat pain in an effort to end the opioid crisis.
A computer program based on data from nearly a half-million tissue images and powered by artificial intelligence can accurately diagnose cases of adenocarcinoma, the most common form of lung cancer, a study published June 11 in Nature Communications shows.
