GW launches the GW Cancer Center

GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY has formally launched the GW Cancer Center.

The GW Cancer Center is a collaboration between GW Hospital, The GW Medical Faculty Associates, the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Milken Institute School of Public Health at GW, to expand GW’s efforts in the fight against cancer.

The GW Cancer Center incorporates all existing cancer-related activities at GW, serving as a platform for future cancer services and research.

The U.S. House of Representatives Jan. 22 passed a three-bill minibus package that is expected to be the grand finale of the drama of the fiscal year 2026 appropriations process. The package, which funds the HHS as well as the departments of Defense, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, and Education, gives NIH and NCI modest raises over FY25, and nullifies several  aggressive cuts the White House had proposed for NIH.
