Friends publishes evaluation of RWE in NSCLC

Findings by Friends of Cancer Research were published recently in JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics in a paper titled “Evaluation of real-world tumor response derived from electronic health record data sources: A feasibility analysis in mNSCLC patients treated with chemotherapy.”

FDA accepted a new drug application and granted priority review designation for the investigational compound sevabertinib (BAY 2927088), an oral, small molecule, tyrosine kinase inhibitor, for the treatment of adult patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors have activating human epidermal growth factor receptors 2 (HER2) (ERBB2) mutations and who have received a prior systemic therapy.
An investigational therapy significantly shrank lung cancer tumors that are notoriously resistant to treatment by encouraging an attack from natural killer cells in an animal model, a study led by UT Southwestern Medical Center researchers shows. The findings, published in the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, could lead to new types of immunotherapy that rely on this novel strategy.
