Turmoil at UCSD Moores Cancer Center
The facts of my story about UCSD Moores Cancer Center in last week’s issue of The Cancer Letter (June 2, 2023) don’t seem to be in dispute.
The following email was sent to members of UCSD Moores Cancer Center on Saturday, June 3. The email addresses The Cancer Letter story focused on the resignation of the center’s director Joe Califano and on problems at the institution.
The UCSD Moores Cancer Center External Advisory Board is extremely disappointed in the commentary included in the most recent issue of The Cancer Letter regarding MCC.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience with academic cancer center External Advisory Boards, including hosting multiple EAB meetings at my own cancer center, chairing the EABs of nine other NCI designated cancer centers, and serving on many others.
