AACR News DuBois to receive Magaret Foti award; Freireich–Lifetime Achievement award; Hudson and Robison–Team Science award
The American Association for Cancer Researc will honor the following cancer researchers, clinicians, and physician-scientists at the AACR Annual Meeting 2019, to be held March 29-April 3 in Atlanta.
Raymond DuBois to receive the 13th Margaret Foti Award for Leadership and Extraordinary Achievements in Cancer Research.
DuBois was the AACR president from 2008 to 2009; he is fellow of the AACR Academy and AACR Academy Steering Committee member; chairman and president of AACR Foundation; dean of the College of Medicine, and professor in the departments of biochemistry and molecular biology at Medical University of South Carolina.
This award recognizes a champion of cancer research whose leadership and extraordinary achievements in cancer research have had a major impact on the field.
Emil Freireich to receive the 16th AACR Award for Lifetime Achievement in Cancer Research.
Freireich is a fellow of the AACR Academy; professor in department of leukemia, division of cancer medicine, and director, Adult Leukemia Research Program at MD Anderson.
This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to cancer research, either through a single scientific discovery or a body of work.
