CMS Proposes To End Automatic Coverage of Clinical Trials

From The Cancer Letter, Oct. 12, 2007:

Six months before leaving office, President Bill Clinton issued an executive order that resolved one of the most stubborn problems in oncology: Medicare's refusal to cover routine care provided to patients involved in clinical trials.

This access to Medicare is now jeopardized. CMS is expected to publish the final version of a revision to this policy, and may require investigators to certify that their studies are consistent with 13 requirements.
